The 2025 Literacy & Learning Educator Conference was held on April 26-27, 2025. Across two full days, the conference delivered a robust lineup of evidence-based content, including neuroscience insights, structured writing instruction, culturally responsive literacy initiatives, and practical classroom strategies. Both keynote and breakout sessions emphasized translating research into actionable routines, tools, and student-centered practice which equipped educators with diverse approaches that support reading and writing for all learners. Four Literacy Leaders were recognized and given an award to honour exceptional Ontario educators who are championing structured literacy in their schools and boards. The 2025 winners were: Lori McCaw, Angeline Humber, Janelle Rowlatt and Angela Stefanato.

The 2024 Literacy & Learning Conference was a resounding success! Held on April 27-28, 2024, the event brought together over 950 educators, professionals, parents, and advocates passionate about advancing effective learning strategies. Attendees were inspired by a lineup of dynamic speakers and engaging sessions that sparked meaningful conversations and shared innovative approaches to reading development, instruction, intervention, and assessment. 4 Literacy Leaders were recognized and given an award to honour exceptional Ontario educators who are championing structured literacy in their schools and boards. The 2024 winners were: Chrstina Kool, Marlene Perry, Jenni vanRees and Shannon Wheeler. In recognition of Alicia Smith’s tremendous commitment to affect changes in literacy, the Alicia Smith Scholarship was introduced in 2024 and awarded to Alana Gray.

The 2023 Literacy & Learning Conference was a tremendous success! On April 14-15, 2023, over 600 educators, professionals, parents, and advocates gathered for an inspiring event focused on advancing learning and literacy. Attendees were energized by a series of insightful talks from expert speakers and engaging sessions. 6 Literacy Leaders were recognized and given an award to honour exceptional Ontario educators who are championing structured literacy in their schools and boards. The winners were: Laura Bross Avon Maitland DSB, Nathaniel Hansford, Kara Macie Near North DSB, Alex-Andrée Madore CSDC du Nouvel-Ontario, Julie Morrice Trillium Lakelands DSB and Michele Van Der Veen Waterloo CDSB.
