Call for proposals application is now closed!

We’ve had an overwhelming amount of submissions and are so excited to announce our 2026 speakers! Stay tuned!

We encourage you to apply again for the 2027 conference.

We are excited to announce the 2026 Literacy & Learning Conference and invite educators, researchers, and practitioners to submit proposals for breakout sessions. This conference aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing in the field of structured literacy.

We welcome proposals that address various aspects of literacy education, including but not limited to structured literacy instruction and intervention, screening and MTSS, supporting learners with dyslexia, literacy development, and family and community engagement.

Each breakout session is 70 minutes long.

Please note: We made the decision to host the conference exclusively in English. While we have previously offered French sessions, we are a primarily volunteer-run organization, and this year we simply do not have the volunteer capacity to manage the additional logistics of offering sessions in both languages. Please note that many of the breakout sessions will be applicable to both English and French contexts, but we will not be able to offer sessions specific to French instruction.

Submission Guidelines

– Each person is limited to submitting two proposals as the primary presenter. You can be a co-presenter for multiple submissions.

–  All presenters must disclose any conflicts of interest, financial or nonfinancial.

–  Presenters may not distribute promotional materials during their presentation.

–  Presenters must attend the conference and present live from Toronto, Canada

The deadline for submissions is now open until November 15, 2025. Please fill out the application below.

Since the main goal of LitLearn is to build educator knowledge and practice in structured literacy, conference sessions should be aligned to one or more of IDA’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading. Proposals will be evaluated using this rubric.

Please note that only successful applicants will be notified. As IDA Ontario is primarily volunteer-run, individual feedback on unsuccessful submissions is unfortunately not possible.
